Avenue of Flags
We are now accepting subscription payments for 2024. All flag routes are closed for 2023. Any payments are for the 2024 Season. Deadline is May 21, 2024 for this season.
On each of the 5 Patriotic Holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veteran's Day a 3' x 5' American Flag on a 10 foot flag pole will be displayed in front of your house from dawn to dusk. Different organizations will be running routes all over the Akron/Newstead area creating a beautiful display of flags - hence, the Avenue of Flags!
PRODUCT INFO
Your subscription will support various Not-For-Profit organizations, Sports Teams, Youth Groups, other 501C3 organizations, the Food Pantry and other service projects in our community. All donations stay local in the Akron/Newstead area.
INCLIMATE WEATHER
In case of severe weather: heavy rain, sleet, snow or high winds, we reserve the right not to put up the flags for the protection of our assests and the safety of our volunteers that will be servicing the routes. We don't want anyone to get hurt while doing the Avenue of Flags. Substitute dates may be used. Please keep in mind - this is a donation program and we are making good use of the donations for several Not-For-Profits in the area and service projects benefiting the Akron/Newstead Community.
STARTING OTHER THAN MEMORIAL DAY
The Lions Club of Akron is no longer accepting subscriptions after the first deadline of May 21st of any given year. Please subscribe prior to May 21st to be included in the program for that year.
Our program plans to cut off at a 1,000 flags this year. We encourage you to subscribe asap for the following year.
